"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
--Martin Luther King, Jr.
yeah, easy to say when you lived in a free society and were not subjected to dailly oppression on a scale far great than MLK ever experienced...
ReplyDeleteAnon: I definately respect your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI think this quote is meant to paint a larger picture. "An eye for an eye" will Leave everyone blind.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous are you implying that America now is a "free society"? I'd argue that, I don't see this Republic working as a Republic anymore, and it scares me. I'm not voting on important issues like whether to go to war or not, I'm voting on the least evil representatives to send to DC. That's just sad.
