Rainbow Bright

Since I've bleached parts of my hair blond, I've been super excited to try this product. It's temporary color in a spray. I'll probably go for the red. Or, maybe I'll just freakishly use every color they have. Results coming soon...

The List

I have a habit of forgetting things, so I write out lists often. Since X-mas is at my house, I always create a menu. This year I have a lot on my plate, Ha! Don't mind the bad handwriting...I'm a lefty.  I also misspelled cheese, lol.

And I haven't even started on the desserts...

I have so many things I want to post, but the hustle and bustle of the holidays are making it difficult. I'm going to get it together as quickly as I can. Until then, here's a really cute video to keep you entertained...

Art Space

Who doesn't have a love for photography? I always find myself driving, or walking somewhere wishing I either had a camera with me, or that time would just stop long enough for me to catch something. Not to mention, the people I'd walk up to and say "Hey, keep doing what you're doing, I just want to take a picture of it" would probably think I was strange.

One morning, a man was driving behind me smoking a cigarette minding his own business, but he had a bird on his shoulder. Just hangin out. The view from my rear view mirror made it even better...Wish I could have caught that on camera.

These are a few of photos I took this year. I thought they were pretty special.

The leaves had all fallen from the trees, but my rose bushes were still blooming.

Have a Seat...

Baroque (pronounced /bəˈroÊŠk/ bÉ™-rohk in American English or /bəˈrÉ’k/ in British English) is an artistic style prevalent from the late 16th century to the early 18th century in Europe.[1] It is most often defined as "the dominant style of art in Europe between the Mannerist and Rococo eras, a style characterized by dynamic movement, overt emotion and self-confident rhetoric".[2]

Art and furniture! These pieces are beautiful. They remind me of the romantic era, which was an artistic, literary, and intellectual movement that originated in the second half of the 18th century in Europe, and gained popularity in reaction to the industrial revolution. If you can't already tell, I'm a big fan of history.

Not everything comes in black. They also use dark cherry, and even white wood.  I just happen to like the black more.

The Kiss - Gustav Klimt

I feel the need to discuss this painting. It's very important to me because when I think of love, this comes to mind. Love and passion are what drive me to do everything in my existence. As silly as it may sound, I feel connected to it.

The wreaths that they are both wearing reminds me of a bond that they may have, or a marriage. They both have their hands wrapped around each other. The man seems so enthralled  in the woman that he doesn't face us. Lets not forget the expression on her face. Her eyes are closed. When you are so wrapped up in the moment, it's almost a reflex to just close your eyes and see with your heart instead. Her toes curled. A symbol of happiness. Have you ever noticed that some people gesture with their feet as well as their hands? I always thought that was funny. The most important part of the painting, I think, is the gold. The patterns they're wearing are different. She's wearing flowers. When I see that, I think of femininity. He's wearing a pattern with black and gray rectangles. A more modern, masculine pattern. However, they both share the solid color. The color around their heads remind me of both a bubble and a giant halo. The bubble symbolizing that nothing exists at that moment besides the two of them, the halo being the purity of their love. And who hasn't either seen, or thought of the idea that you'd be laying in a field of flowers with that special someone?

I first saw this my freshman year of high school. It was in English class. I found myself daydreaming often about the idea of this type of love. For me, it shows one of loves best descriptions.

This is a photograph by Burke Heffner who amazingly paid homage to the painting.

Wine-O!

I've always loved collecting really fun wine bottles. At some point I'll need to put up shelves, because I'm running out of space. I don't drink often, so most of the time I just pour out the wine, Ha!
