Although this blog is generally used for posting things about art/fashion/music etc. there are other more important subjects that I would like to touch on. One being animal testing.
Many products we use today are first tested on animals to find side effects. For instance, you know that getting shampoo in your eye stings. Before making it to shelves, certain shampoos are tested on animals to come to this conclusion, and caution labels are put on the bottles. The animals are kept in labs, have horrible living conditions, and are kept only to be tested on. Mice are not the only animals used in experiments. Rabbits, cats, dogs and other animals are also used for testing. I believe that this is cruel, and a form of animal torture which needs to stop.
Not all products are tested on animals. The ones that aren't usually say it on the back of the container. It's not always easy knowing which brands don't test, but to help educate people on this subject, I've put together a list of some that don't.
If I am missing any, feel free to post them in a comment. The more options we have for using non-tested products, the better.

Some People...lol
Walking in the mall:
Stranger walks up beside me...
Stranger: Hi
Me: Hi
Stranger: What's your name?
Me: I don't have one
Stranger: Want me to give you one?
Me: No thanks.
(I keep walking)

In Vogue
Okay, so I know I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks, but a lot has been going on...
1. NY fashion week! There were a bunch of events going on for Fashion's Night Out, but because I was working, I couldn't make it. However...The Emails I received spoke of some really cool giveaways and I'm sure it was buckets of fun. Alexander McQueen's event had a limited edition crystal skull keyring they were giving out, and on the key was a code. If you had the correct code, you got another awesome gift...Sad I had to miss it.
2. For Labor Day weekend, I went to the casino. I'm not a gambler, but I played the slots and because I didn't spend my winnings, I doubled what I spent...Beginners luck? Maybe, but I'm still excited!
3. Since it's fall, I decided it was time to get some new fall-esque shoes. I love the slip on boots. I don't need the Uggs, or anything crazy expensive to just run around in. As long as they are comfortable. Of course, by now, you know I love leopard. I found these boots on Amazon.com for $23! they are by Qupid, and they're super comfortable! They also come in zebra, and a couple of other colors as well.
I also found these fun ankle boots from Victorias Secret. By the way, before I started wearing ankle boots, I would see some that I liked, but never knew what I would wear with them. They seemed difficult to pair with an outfit. I love how straight leg pants look on people, but I'm not crazy about how they look on me. So I decided to compromise. I love leggings, they are super comfy and you can either dress them up or down, depending on the top you wear. so I figured if I like leggings, Express sells these really nice "jean leggings", which, I don't know why they call them that, but they are stretchy. I can't stand jeans that smother you...Anyway, If you pair the leggings, or straight leg jeans with a tunic sweater, or long length shirt, you can rock those boots, feel confident, and comfortable all at the same time. That's how I like ankle boots the most. I personally don't think boot cut pants look great tucked in. And unless you are going for a boho look, long skirts don't really do them any favors either.
4. Check out this outfit I saw in the September edition of Vogue...And by the way, I suggest you pick up a copy. It has everything you can imagine about fall fashion, and it's HUGE! So much eye candy, you'll need to take a break in between what seems like chapters from a book you don't want to put down.
5. I've been going to the gym a lot more lately. I figure with my career in massage therapy, you need to be in shape and have the energy to do your best. When I go to the gym, It makes my job so much easier. I feel like my self thanks me for it.
6. Along with the shoes I bought for fall, I also found some things at H&M I couldn't refuse...This faux leather skirt was eyeballing me from across the room. I almost didn't get it, but then I thought to myself "Self...When are you going to find another faux leather skirt that is high waisted, and not skin tight?" You can wear this skirt with tights and flats, sandals before it gets cold, OR super high heels. I think I'll do all 3. I also snagged this amazing leopard cardigan. Did I mention I love leopard? there's no such thing as too much!
7. Lastly, I found these huge red sunglasses. The bigger, the better. In the 80's/early 90's when my mother wore the really big eyeglasses, my siblings and I would make fun of it. Now that I wear sunglasses that pretty much hide my entire face, I get to hear "but you told me I looked silly! Who's silly now?!" Yeah Yeah :).

10 Things...
you probably don't know about me:
1. The music I first remember listening to as a child was Anita Baker, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Toni Braxton, En Vogue, Boys II Men, Vanessa Williams, Marvin Gaye, and George Michael...My mother would blast it while cleaning and doing laundry.
2. My favorite color has always been red.
3. The first concert I ever went to was Aerosmith. Back in the early 90's...My father had been friends with Steve Tyler and Joe Perry since they were kids. Joe Perry's parents went to my parents wedding in the 70's. When I met Steve, he said "what gorgeous lips!" Go figure.
4. I don't watch horror movies, or anything else involving negativity.
5. Piercings I've done on myself starting when I was 12 include: My nose on both sides, Lebret, Ears, Monroe, and both my upper and lower belly button. Ps. If you are UNDER 18, DO NOT ATTEMPT!
6. Your smile is the first thing I will notice about you.
7. My favorite scent is Vanilla. Lavender comes in 2nd.
8. I don't like sports.
9. I have my own style. I don't follow trends or label myself.
10. When I was really young, I thought braces were cool. I never had them, So I would tie dental floss around my teeth.
